HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS: Teams normally consist of four players and play their strongest player on board one, their next strongest on board two and so on down to board four. Any team having only three players forfeits their game/s on board four. A team consisting of more than four players may play alternates on board four. Any High School may have more than one team, which they would designate as team A, team B, etc.
ADVANCE ENTRY: Seating is limited. Teams sending in their entry forms first will ensure entry into the tournament. Mail in entry form postmarked no later than 4/19/2010.
PARKING AND DIRECTIONS: 1) Park in the lot directly across State street from the library and enter the door at street level just to the right of the main entrance stairs. Or, 2) Take Chestnut St. to Edwards St., and use the Quadrangle parking lot. Then walk past the museums to enter the rear of the library. Pass through to the front and go down the stairs.
SCHEDULE
AT SITE REGISTRATIONS: From 9:00am to 9:30am
ROUND TIMES: Round one starts at 10:00am. Later Rounds will be scheduled as soon as possible.
TOURNAMENT ENDS: At around 4:00pm
FORMAT: 4 Round Swiss System (no elimination), Game/45, U.S.C.F. Rated
BRING THE FOLLOWING: Chess set and chess clock if you have them, and a bagged lunch.
PRIZES: Medals to Top Players. Trophies to the Top Teams. Any team may go to the state finals.
RULES: USCF rules will be in effect. TIEBREAKS: U.S.C.F. tiebreak systems will be used per Rule 34E and 34G of the U.S. Chess Federation’s Official Rules of Chess.
